BOSSY aims to produce one musical theatre show and one spectacular concert per year

Bra-vissima

A Brentwood ladies’ choir performing sacred and secular music; funds from concerts support nominated charities.

Brentwood Arts Cinema Club

Brentwood Art Cinema Club was started in 2007, partly in response to the lack of cinema facilities in the town.

 

It is run by a committee of volunteers on a membership basis and aims to show films, both classics and more recent releases, which are not normally on general release. English speaking and foreign language films (which are subtitled) are always included in our programme.

Brentwood & Ingatstone Choral Society

We are friendly, local, mixed voice choir, rehearsing weekly in term time in Ingatestone, Essex. We aim to present the traditional choral repertoire whilst embracing new works and ideas. Our concerts are a mix of the choral greats and light classical music.

Brentwood Musical Theatre Society

Brentwood Musical Theatre Society has been staging award-winning amateur musical theatre productions in the heart of Essex for over 120 years!

Marlborough Dramatic Club

The Marlborough Dramatic Society was established in 1904.

This amateur dramatic society has won many awards over the years for its productions.

The society typically produces two plays a year, using the stage in the Memorial Hall at Brentwood School.

Events and sometimes short plays are also held at the Shenfield Parish Hall.

The New Venture Players

Havering based drama group with the sole ambition of performing high quality theatre. New members always welcome.

U3A Warley

Meetings are held on the 4th Thursday of the month at 2.15pm at Warley Scout Headquarters, Eagle Hall, The Drive, Warley, CM13 3BH and there is plenty of parking available.

We welcome a guest speaker, have the chance to chat over a drink and biscuit, browse the second hand book stall (proceeds to our charity of the year) and admire the craft stall.

Brentwood-Landkreis Roth Twinning Association 1979

Both associations are independent, non-political, financially self-supporting organisations. The Landkreis Roth twinning was inaugurated by Bentwood Borough Council to implement the Partnership Agreement with Landkreis Roth signed in May 1979.

Its main function is to encourage and promote exchange visits between the two areas, with particular emphasis on youth and cultural exchanges.  Visits happen every year with local hosts visiting each other in alternate years.

Blackmore Players

Local amateur theatre group founded in 1969, producing several plays, musicals and pantomimes yearly. Backstage & stage roles open to all.

Brentwood Orchestras for Young Musicians

We aim to have fun making music together and to give our members an opportunity to develop their orchestral musicianship skills.

We are a friendly club that meet most Fridays at 8pm at the Friends Meeting House, Shenfield, CM15 8NF.

Friends of Shenfield Library

 It aims to support the library and enhance its use as a ‘community hub’. The Friends plan to hold various events to suit all tastes at the temporary library and nearby venues and will continue with these when the new library is completed.

Hutton & Shenfield Choral Society was established in 1967. With more than 90 singers it is the largest choral society in Brentwood and one of the leading choirs in South Essex.

The Art Society Brentwood District

We have about 150 members and don’t have a waiting list – new members are very welcome. We meet every month except August and December on every third Wednesday,  7.30pm for 8pm in Ingatestone.

The Stondon Singers

The Stondon Singers is a choir based in and around Chelmsford in Essex. We perform a wide range of repertoire, and were originally formed to sing the music of William Byrd. Every July we perform a memorial concert featuring his music

West Horndon Art Group

We are a well-established group of artists who believe enjoyment comes before artistic excellence, but the aim is to combine the two!

Ingatestone & District Camera Club

The Ingatestone & District Camera Club was founded in 1953.
The club has always followed emerging trends in photographic development through the years moving from Black and White to Colour prints then to the use of film transparencies. However the move to Digital photography has brought about a significant change in the quality and quantity of images produced. The club’s first Digital image competition was in 2006/7 and the quality of images produced has continued to improve.
In September 2021, we moved to our new meeting place at the Seymour Pavilion, which offers a car park, a built-in projector, and free wifi. This has allowed us to have the option to have talks done remotely via Zoom (when necessary), as well as the streaming of informative Youtube videos.
